Granite Air Bearing: Precision Motion, Friction-Free Performance
Granite air bearings are usually composed of a granite base and an air bearing unit. An external air supply provides stable, clean compressed air, which enters the air bearing through precision orifices. A uniform micron-level air film is formed between the moving components and the granite base, causing the moving components to “float” on the base and achieve nearly friction-free motion.
