  1. Ensure that the workpiece and the plug gauge are at the same ambient temperature. Temperature differences can cause thermal expansion or contraction, leading to measurement errors. It is recommended to leave both the gauge and the workpiece in the measuring environment for at least 30 minutes before inspection.​
Inspection Process​
  1. Hold the plug gauge by the handle, avoiding contact with the measuring surfaces to prevent contamination or damage from body heat.​
  1. Align the smaller end (go end) of the plug gauge with the inner diameter of the workpiece. Gently insert the go end into the workpiece. If the go end passes through the workpiece smoothly without excessive force, it indicates that the inner diameter of the workpiece is within the acceptable lower limit of the H7 tolerance.​
  1. Next, align the larger end (no - go end) of the plug gauge with the inner diameter of the workpiece. Attempt to insert the no - go end into the workpiece. If the no - go end does not enter the workpiece or enters only slightly (no more than 2 - 3 mm), it means that the inner diameter of the workpiece is within the acceptable upper limit of the H7 tolerance.​
  1. If the go end cannot pass through the workpiece or the no - go end passes through easily, the workpiece's inner diameter is outside the H7 tolerance range and is considered unqualified.​
Post - Use Care​
  1. After use, clean the plug gauge again with a clean cloth to remove any residue from the inspection process.​
  1. Store the plug gauge in its dedicated protective case to prevent damage and keep it free from dust and moisture.​
