How to check granite platform and what factors can be judged

1. How to Inspect a Granite Platform

According to the plate specification, platform accuracy levels are categorized as Grade 0, Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 3. Granite platforms are typically manufactured only to Grade 0 accuracy, and rarely fall below Grade 0. So, when you receive a granite platform, how do you verify its accuracy?

First, the stone used for a granite platform must have a hardness exceeding 70, be free of cracks, and have a uniform texture. Platforms ground from this high-hardness, naturally formed granite are not only wear-resistant but also maintain their accuracy over time.

During inspection, follow the plate specification. For example:

Using a knife-edge ruler and feeler gauge: A knife-edge ruler inherently has extremely high parallelism. Using it in conjunction with a feeler gauge effectively determines the flatness and accuracy error of the scribed platform’s working surface.

Using an electronic level: Electronic levels are commonly used in granite measuring tool production. They are simple to operate and offer high accuracy. Using the diagonal measurement method specified in the specification, you can determine whether the platform meets Grade 0 accuracy requirements.

In addition to the two methods above, you can also use a compound level or a granite-grade measuring tool. Regardless of the instrument used, it must be operated by a technician familiar with granite surface testing procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.

II. Key Points for Judging Marble Measuring Tools

After transporting marble measuring tools, first remove the packaging in a well-lit environment and wipe off the surface grease. Observe the tool for its natural shape and uniform color. Inspect the surface from various distances and angles. If there are no cracks, dents, or stains, it is considered intact; if defects are present, it is defective.

After long-term use, marble measuring tools may experience accuracy deviations. Scrapping them directly results in a waste of resources. Therefore, repairing measuring tools not only restores accuracy but also, through the expertise of a technician and scientific repair methods, significantly extends their service life to meet production and economic efficiency requirements.

Maintenance of marble measuring tools is particularly important in industries such as machinery manufacturing. Millions of marble surface gauges are in use worldwide. If they are scrapped due to inaccuracy, they will result in significant economic losses. Therefore, regular inspection and maintenance are of great significance for ensuring the accuracy of measuring tools, extending their service life and improving production efficiency.
