Marble Surface Plate Calibration and Important Usage Tips

Proper calibration and careful handling are essential to maintain the precision and longevity of marble surface plates. Follow these key guidelines to ensure optimal performance:

1. Protect Wire Rope Contact Points During Lifting
   When hoisting the surface plate, always apply protective padding where the steel wire ropes contact the platform to prevent damage.

2. Ensure Accurate Leveling
   Place the marble plate on a stable surface and use a spirit level to measure and adjust its levelness at perpendicular (90°) directions. This prevents gravitational deformation and preserves flatness accuracy.

3. Handle Workpieces with Care
   Place workpieces gently on the surface plate to avoid chipping or scratching. Be especially cautious of sharp edges or burrs that can damage the plate surface.

4. Protect the Surface After Use
   After each use, cover the surface plate with an oil-impregnated felt cloth to protect against accidental knocks and rust formation.

5. Use a Protective Wooden Cover
   When the surface plate is not in use, cover it with a wooden case made from plywood or multi-layer board placed over the felt cloth to prevent dust accumulation and physical damage.

6. Avoid High Surface Moisture
   Marble surface plates are sensitive to moisture, which can cause deformation. Always keep the platform dry and avoid exposure to water or humid environments.
