In the process of mold processing and production, the granite base acts like a "stabilizer" for the equipment, directly influencing the installation accuracy of the mold and the quality of the product. So, how to choose the right granite base?
First of all, accuracy is the key. Mold installation has extremely high precision requirements. Special attention should be paid to the flatness and straightness of the base. The high-quality granite base has a flatness within ±0.5μm/m and a straightness error not exceeding ±0.3μm/m. Just like building with blocks, the flatter the base is, the more precisely the mold will be installed, and the dimensions of the products produced will be more in line with the standards.
Secondly, the carrying capacity cannot be ignored. The weight of different molds varies greatly. A small injection mold may weigh only a few hundred kilograms, while a large die-casting mold can weigh several tons. When choosing a base, it is essential to match the load-bearing capacity based on the weight of the mold and reserve a safety margin of 20% to 30%, just like buying a shelf with a greater load-bearing capacity to prevent overloading and deformation.
In addition, vibration occurs during mold processing, which requires the base to have good vibration damping performance. Granite naturally possesses excellent damping properties and can absorb over 90% of high-frequency vibrations. Selecting a base with a damping ratio greater than 0.02 can effectively reduce the flutter marks on the mold surface and make the product surface smoother.
Also, installation compatibility is very important. According to the fixation method of the mold, select a base with appropriate T-slots and threaded holes. If it is a mold with a special shape, an irregular-shaped base can also be customized. At the same time, considering the processing environment, if it will come into contact with chemical substances such as coolant, granite that has undergone anti-permeation treatment should be selected to prevent the base from being corroded.
As long as you master these key points, you can select the granite base suitable for mold installation equipment, ensuring efficient production!
