Precision Granite Dial Base

Granite surface plates are typically used as datum planes in conjunction with dial indicators, micrometers, or height gauges for the following measurements:
1. Flatness inspection: Place the workpiece on the plate and use a displacement sensor to slide over the surface to measure the deviation from an ideal plane.
2. Parallelism inspection: Use the granite surface as a reference to measure the parallel deviation between the top and bottom surfaces (contact surfaces) of the workpiece.
3. Perpendicularity inspection: In conjunction with a granite right angle square, place the workpiece against the square to measure the deviation of the vertical surface.
4. Straightness inspection: Utilize the extremely high surface straightness of the granite to serve as a reference for the linear motion of guide rails or shaft parts.
5. Position and runout: When inspecting the radial runout of rotating parts (such as shafts), the surface plate provides a stable support platform with extremely low vibration.
