Application

The most core application field of granite V-blocks is the metrology and testing laboratory.

1. Support Datum for Cylindrical Workpieces: As a standard supporting component, it is used for placing workpieces with circular cross-sections such as shafts, pins, round bars and pipes.

2. Concentricity and roundness inspection: With micrometers, dial indicators or CMMs on a granite plate, measure radial runout, concentricity and roundness error of workpieces.

3. Parallelism and Perpendicularity Measurement of Shafts: Supports shaft parts and inspects the parallelism and perpendicularity between their surfaces and the reference surface plate or another surface.

4. Height Measurement: When V-blocks are used in pairs, their upper surfaces or V-groove centerlines can serve as the datum for height gauges to measure the key dimensions of workpieces.
