1、Cleaning: Always use a non-abrasive, pH-neutral granite cleaner or denatured alcohol/acetone. Avoid water-based solutions or household detergents, which can cause absorption and surface chilling.
2、Handling: Never drop tools or heavy objects onto the surface. Distribute applied loads evenly.
3、Environment: Ensure the component remains in a stable temperature environment. Keep it out of direct sunlight or drafts that can cause uneven thermal expansion.
4、Covering: When not in use, protect the surface with a non-abrasive cover to guard against dust (an abrasive agent) and debris.
5、Calibration: Establish a regular, NIST/National Metrology Institute-traceable calibration schedule. Even a stable material like granite benefits from periodic verification to maintain its status as your measuring benchmark.
