Integrating Global Standards: How Mastery of 8 Major International Metrology Standards Ensures Constant Precision of ZHHIMG Products

   I. Master Eight International Metrology Standards & Build Compound Professional Metrology Talent Echelon

   Metrology standards serve as the fundamental criteria to judge whether precision workpieces meet specifications. Metrology systems across different regions adopt unique formulas for error calculation, precision grading, measuring point layout and temperature-humidity correction parameters. Mastery of merely one standard cannot satisfy mass global delivery demands.
Unlike most manufacturers in the industry that prioritize output over metrology management, ZHHIMG has set up an exclusive Metrology R&D Center. We implement year-round regular training plus closed-book assessment mechanisms. All polishing technicians, process engineers and quality inspectors must finish full courses covering eight major metrology standards and pass qualification assessments before taking up posts. Specialized training modules are tailored for different overseas markets:
  • European markets: Focus on Germany DIN geometric accuracy standards, UK BS length measurement rules and French EIE acceptance specifications for industrial stone reference substrates, complying with inspection requirements of EU local equipment manufacturers and third-party authoritative metrology laboratories;
  • North American markets: Fully grasp the ASME geometric product specification system to meet rigorous full-range factory inspection procedures of leading European and American manufacturers including Apple and Bosch;
  • Asia-Pacific markets (Japan & South Korea): Proficiently apply Japan JIS industrial metrology standards to support customized orders for Japanese semiconductor and laser processing equipment;
  • Domestic China, Central Asia and Eastern Europe under the Belt and Road Initiative: Take China GB as the baseline while being compatible with Russia GOST metrology codes to fulfill procurement projects of government bodies and research institutes in related countries;
  • Built on the universal ISO international metrology framework, data interconnection and rapid tolerance conversion are realized among the eight standards, enabling measurement data of a single workpiece to pass acceptance inspections of multiple countries.
   Most competitors only require inspectors to grasp basic metrology provisions superficially. In contrast, ZHHIMG integrates eight metrology standards into the early process design phase. Once clients place orders, technical teams immediately match the corresponding metrology standard based on the client’s location, and customize exclusive tolerance drawings and inspection schemes to avoid disqualification caused by mismatched standards at the source. Our polishing artisans with over 30 years of practical experience can flexibly adjust polishing rhythm and material removal volume according to precision grades defined by different standards, steadily producing stone reference substrates that satisfy both nanometer and micron multi-level accuracy requirements.

   II. Eight Metrology Standards Run Through the Entire Production Chain to Secure Long-Term Consistent Precision

   Frequent precision fluctuations of finished products mainly stem from inconsistent metrology standards and disconnected control links across production procedures. ZHHIMG embeds eight international metrology specifications into the full closed-loop workflow from raw material warehousing to finished product packaging, with dedicated control nodes set for each process according to corresponding standards.
  1. Raw Material Incoming Inspection

    For our self-developed high-density black granite with a density of 3100kg/m³, four core testing indicators (water absorption, Mohs hardness, ore density and thermal expansion coefficient) are formulated in accordance with the eight metrology standards. Loose marble and other inferior substrates are strictly blocked from entering production lines. Material test reports compatible with multiple international standards are issued to simplify raw material qualification reviews for clients from various countries.

  2. Heavy-Duty CNC Forming & Machining

    Headquartered in Jinan, we operate two standardized intelligent manufacturing plants covering a total area of 200,000 ㎡, paired with an independent 20,000 ㎡ dedicated stone storage yard. Four imported ultra-large CNC grinders each worth over USD 500,000 enable integrated machining of single workpieces up to 20 meters long and 100 tons heavy. The CNC program system embeds a complete tolerance database covering eight metrology standards. When processing ultra-long granite air-bearing bases, carbon fiber gantry beams and precision ceramic inspection platforms, the system automatically matches tolerance thresholds for target export markets, eliminating dimensional out-of-tolerance risks for oversized components during rough machining.

  3. Nano-Level Manual Fine Polishing in Constant-Temperature Dust-Free Workshop

    A 10,000 ㎡ professional shockproof constant-temperature & humidity dust-free workshop provides a vibration-free, thermally stable precision processing environment. Polishing technicians grade and control flatness, parallelism and verticality in strict accordance with eight standards. Exclusive hand polishing techniques are developed for Grade 000 ultra-precision measuring plates to form uniform nanometer-level reference planes unachievable by pure mechanical processing.

  4. Full-Range Metrology Inspection of Finished Products

    The workshop is equipped with world-class measuring instruments: German Mahr high-precision 0.5μm dial gauges, Swiss Wyler electronic levels, British Renishaw laser interferometers and full series of Mitutoyo precision measuring tools. All measuring devices undergo official calibration at Jinan and Shandong Metrology Institutes regularly, with test data traceable to China’s national top metrology benchmark. Inspectors can conduct full-coverage testing with hundreds of measuring points under any of the eight standards. The system automatically converts tolerances across different standards and generates complete traceable inspection files recognized by global clients.

   Supported by the standardized metrology control system, four automated dedicated production lines for granite beds deliver a stable monthly output of 20,000 sets of 5000mm-specification precision bases. Regardless of shipments to Europe, America, Japan, South Korea, China or Central Asia, all precision indicators remain highly consistent without quality differentiation caused by regional metrology gaps.

   III. Multi-Standard Synchronous Inspection System Resolves Industry Pain Point of Acceptance Disputes with Overseas Clients

   Most domestic stone processors face a universal hurdle in overseas business: products manufactured per China GB show inconsistent readings when retested by overseas clients adopting local metrology standards, triggering returned goods, compensation claims and delayed projects. The root cause lies in divergent temperature compensation logic, datum selection modes and error acceptance rules among different metrology standards.
Backed by mature reserves of eight metrology standards, ZHHIMG provides one-stop synchronous multi-standard inspection services for global partners. Multiple compliant test reports complying with DIN, ASME, JIS, GB and other specifications can be issued for one single workpiece. The system automatically completes tolerance conversion and error compensation between different standards, fundamentally eliminating data discrepancies in cross-border inspection. For Fortune 500 manufacturers including GE, Samsung, Apple, THK and HIWIN, long-term cooperative research and official institutions such as the National University of Singapore, Stockholm University, national metrology institutes of various countries and the Kenyan government, we can fully customize acceptance schemes aligned with local metrology codes, drastically shortening clients’ incoming inspection and complete machine calibration cycles.
   Meanwhile, our core technologies of nano manual polishing and integrated machining for 20-meter oversized components have obtained more than 20 overseas intellectual property patents registered in the EU, the US and Southeast Asia. All patented techniques are developed in alignment with mainstream local metrology standards, so no secondary process adjustment is required before export, greatly shortening overall delivery cycles of overseas projects.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Granite Surface Plate Care
