Q: Will the granite straight edge deform due to temperature fluctuations?
A: No. Granite has a thermal expansion coefficient that is only 1/3 that of cast iron. After acclimating in our constant temperature workshop, it is virtually immune to daily temperature variations. For absolute peak precision, we recommend using it in a 20℃±1℃ environment.
Q: What is the difference between Grade 00 and Grade 0?
A: Grade 00 is the highest precision tier, with a straightness tolerance of ≤0.003mm/m. Grade 0 offers a tolerance of ≤0.006mm/m. For nanometer-level equipment calibration or high-end CMMs, Grade 00 is mandatory. Grade 0 is suitable for general workshop inspections where extreme precision is less critical.
Q: Can you customize special sizes or shapes?
A: Absolutely. We support custom lengths ranging from 100mm to 3000mm. We can also machine V-grooves, T-slots, or embed threaded inserts to meet unique non-standard equipment requirements. Please send us your technical drawings, and we will provide a quote within 48 hours.
Q: How should I maintain and care for the straight edge?
A: After use, simply wipe the surface with a lint-free cloth to remove any oil or metal shavings. Store it in the provided wooden case or on a vibration-dampening mat, away from direct heat sources. We recommend an annual recalibration to ensure continuous reliability.
