Precision Granite Angle Bracket: Custom L-Shaped Black Granite Component
Most brackets are chosen on price and then forgotten. Months later the machine runs warm, the floor shakes a little, and an angle that was perfect on the inspection bench has drifted. Granite avoids much of that trouble.
Its thermal expansion is far lower than that of aluminum or steel, so the bracket keeps its geometry when the temperature moves. It is non-magnetic, which matters the moment an encoder, a Hall sensor or an optical alignment setup sits nearby. It does not rust. And if someone knocks a corner, it chips cleanly instead of raising a burr that lifts the next part off its datum.
We machine this bracket from ZHHIMG black granite, a dense, fine-grained natural stone (density about 3,050 to 3,100 kg/m³), not marble. The upright and the base are ground and checked against each other, then slotted and drilled to your drawing. What leaves our workshop is a rigid, quiet, long-lived structure you can mount a sensor, a probe or a motion axis on and stop worrying about.

- • True right-angle geometry. A tall upright and a flat base, finished to a squareness and flatness grade you specify on the drawing.
- • Stable with temperature. Granite expands far less than aluminum or steel, so alignment holds as the shop warms and cools.
- • Non-magnetic. No field distortion near magnetic encoders, Hall-effect sensors or optical alignment setups.
- • Damps vibration. The dense stone calms small disturbances instead of passing them to your sensor or axis.
- • No rust, no burrs. No coating to wear off, and no raised edges that spoil a mating surface.
- • Mounting ready. A long vertical slot in the upright, an oblong cutout in the base and rows of precisely placed holes give you many fixing points. The photographed part sits on a slotted steel foot for easy bolt-down.
- • Made to your drawing. Hole pattern, slot size, thickness, edge chamfers and tolerances follow your CAD file or sample.
- • Documented. Inspection reports and a quality certificate can ship with the part.
We use various techniques during this process:
● Optical measurements with autocollimators
● Laser interferometers and laser trackers
● Electronic inclination levels (precision spirit levels)
1. Documents together with products: Inspection reports + Calibration reports(measuring devices) + Quality Certificate + Invoice + Packing List + Contract + Bill of Lading(or AWB).
2. Special Export Plywood Case: Export fumigation-free wooden box.

How accurate can a granite angle bracket be?
It depends on the grade you specify and on the size of the part. Reference faces are ground against standards such as DIN 876, and precision down to 0.001 mm is available depending on size. Tell us the flatness, squareness and parallelism you need on the drawing and we will confirm what is achievable.
Why choose granite instead of aluminum or steel for a precision bracket?
Granite expands far less with temperature, does not disturb magnetic sensors, does not rust and does not raise burrs. For a bracket whose whole purpose is to stay square, those traits matter more than weight or price.
Can the bracket have threaded inserts, slots and custom holes?
Yes. Slots, cutouts, hole grids and threaded inserts are made to your drawing. Our note on threaded inserts in machine bases explains the design points.
Is granite magnetic?
No. Granite is non-magnetic, so it suits setups with magnetic encoders, Hall-effect sensors and optical alignment.
Is a granite bracket slower or more expensive than an aluminum one?
Usually, yes. Grinding and finishing take longer than milling a metal part, so lead times are longer. The trade-off is less drift, less recalibration and a structure that keeps its tolerances. Send your drawing for a quotation with price and lead time.
Do you supply inspection reports?
Yes, on request. Reports come from instruments calibrated with certificates traceable to national standards, and a quality certificate can ship with the part.
