ZHHIMG® Precision Granite Square Ruler with Premium Carrying Case
From Raw Stone to Nanometer-Level Reference
In the world of precision engineering, "close enough" is not a phrase that belongs in any conversation about right angles.
When a machine tool column must stand perpendicular to its base to within one micrometer per 300 millimeters; when a CMM fixture must present a part to the probe in a geometry that is provably, certifiably square—not approximately, not visually, but measurably; when an aerospace component requires an angular reference traceable to a national measurement standard—engineers reach for a precision granite square ruler.
At ZHHIMG®, we believe that true precision begins with material integrity. That is why we reject the shortcuts taken by lesser manufacturers who substitute inexpensive marble for genuine granite. Marble is porous, thermally unstable, and dimensionally unreliable—a compromise we refuse to make.
We use only our proprietary ZHHIMG® black granite, with a density of approximately 3100 kg/m³. This density exceeds typical European and American black granite standards, delivering superior stability and resistance to environmental interference. Each square ruler is precision-machined and hand-lapped by master craftsmen in our state-of-the-art temperature-controlled cleanroom facility, using ultra-precision grinding equipment from Taiwan's Nantex.
This is not merely a measuring tool. It is the foundation upon which measurement confidence is built. A reference standard that doesn't just tell you where you are—it tells you where you need to be.

Uncompromising Material Quality
ZHHIMG® black granite delivers density of approximately 3100 kg/m³—significantly higher than typical granite grades. This translates to superior rigidity, dimensional stability, and resistance to thermal and mechanical stress.
Ultra-Low Thermal Expansion
With a coefficient of thermal expansion of just 4.6 × 10⁻⁶/°C, ZHHIMG® granite minimizes thermal deformation. Even when ambient temperatures fluctuate on the shop floor or in the lab, the square ruler maintains its geometric accuracy—a property that steel squares simply cannot match.
Superior Vibration Damping
Granite's natural crystalline structure absorbs vibration far more effectively than metal. In environments where nearby machinery or foot traffic transmits vibrations through the floor, this damping characteristic preserves the integrity of every measurement.
Non-Magnetic and Corrosion-Free
Granite contains no ferrous materials. It will never magnetize, never rust, and never attract metallic dust or debris. In semiconductor cleanrooms and electronics inspection environments where contamination and magnetic interference are unacceptable risks, this is not a luxury—it is a requirement.
Precision That Endures
Geologically formed over millions of years, granite contains no residual internal stresses. Unlike cast metals that can "relax" and warp over time, a ZHHIMG® granite square ruler retains its calibrated accuracy for decades with proper care and periodic recalibration.
Four Precision Surfaces
Every ZHHIMG® granite square ruler is ground and lapped on all functional surfaces, ensuring that the instrument serves not only as a right-angle reference but also as a straightness and parallelism standard.
Comprehensive Documentation
Each granite square ruler is supplied with a detailed Test Report including error maps and installation instructions. Calibration certificates with full measurement uncertainty statements are available on request.
Globally Recognized Certification
ZHHIMG® is the only manufacturer in the industry holding ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and CE certifications simultaneously. Our calibration equipment—including German Mahr, Mitutoyo, and Renishaw instruments—is traceable to national metrology institutes.
We use various techniques during this process:
● Optical measurements with autocollimators
● Laser interferometers and laser trackers
● Electronic inclination levels (precision spirit levels)

What is a granite square ruler used for?
A granite square ruler is used to check perpendicularity and right-angle alignment in precision machining, assembly, and metrology applications. It serves as a primary geometric reference standard for evaluating squareness, straightness, and parallelism.
Why choose granite instead of steel squares?
Granite offers superior thermal stability, vibration damping, and corrosion resistance. Unlike steel, granite does not rust, does not magnetize, and maintains long-term dimensional stability without the internal stress relaxation that causes metal tools to drift over time.
What accuracy grades are available?
ZHHIMG® offers Grade 000, Grade 00, and Grade 0 precision granite square rulers, with squareness deviation as low as ±1 μm/m. Grade selection depends on your application requirements, with Grade 000 reserved for national metrology institutes and primary calibration laboratories.
Can the size be customized?
Yes. ZHHIMG® manufactures custom granite square rulers according to customer size, tolerance, and application requirements. Non-standard dimensions, special hole patterns, threaded inserts, and T-slots can all be accommodated.
What documentation is provided with the product?
Each granite square ruler is supplied with a Test Report including error maps and installation instructions. Calibration certificates with full measurement uncertainty statements are available on request.
How should the granite square be maintained?
Granite requires minimal maintenance: clean with a lint-free cloth and appropriate granite cleaner, store in the protective case when not in use, avoid thermal shocks, and schedule periodic recalibration every 6–12 months depending on usage intensity.
Why does ZHHIMG® use black granite instead of marble?
Marble is porous, thermally unstable, and dimensionally unreliable. ZHHIMG® black granite offers density of approximately 3100 kg/m³, superior rigidity, near-zero water absorption, and exceptional long-term stability that marble cannot provide.
