Precision Granite Mounting Plate
Some components in a measurement system never get much attention — they're not the sensor, not the software, not the moving stage. They're just the flat black block everything else sits on. But ask any calibration engineer what happens when that base isn't stable, and you'll get a longer answer than you expect: readings drift, alignment shifts after a few thermal cycles, and nobody can figure out why until someone finally checks the mounting surface itself.
That's the problem this plate is built to remove from the equation. Machined from black precision granite and finished with four counterbored mounting holes, it's designed as a fixed, non-magnetic, thermally stable base for instruments, sensors, and fixtures that can't afford to shift position over time. It ships in a rigid aluminum case with die-cut foam padding, so the flatness you're paying for on day one is still there when it arrives.

Q: Why choose granite over an aluminum or steel mounting plate? Metal plates expand and contract more with temperature, can retain magnetic properties, and — in the case of cast or welded metal — often carry internal stress that releases slowly over years, causing gradual warping. Granite avoids all three issues, which is why it's the standard choice in metrology and semiconductor-adjacent equipment.
Q: Can this plate be customized to different dimensions or hole patterns? Yes. Standard sizing is available, but custom dimensions, hole spacing, and thickness can be produced to match your existing fixture design — contact us with your drawing or requirements.
Q: Will the granite crack or chip under normal use? Precision granite is dense and hard, but like any stone product it can chip on unprotected edges under impact. This is why edges are chamfered and the plate ships in a padded case — for permanent installation, standard handling precautions (no dropping, no edge-loading) are all that's needed.
Q: Does this plate need any special maintenance? No special treatment is required for structural stability. For applications where the surface is used as an optical or mechanical reference, periodic cleaning and occasional flatness re-verification (as with any precision reference surface) is good practice.
Q: Is calibration documentation available? Yes — calibration and flatness certification can be provided; please specify your required standard (DIN, ASME, GB, JIS, etc.) when requesting a quote.
