Precision Granite Cube with Machined Mounting Groove
Cubes of this type typically serve one of a few roles:
- • A squareness reference for checking that a CMM, a machine tool axis, or an assembly fixture is running true — the cube's own faces are the standard the equipment is checked against.
- • A mounting or locating block built into a larger fixture or assembly, where the groove seats against a rail, a clamp, or a mating component and the surrounding faces stay available as measurement or alignment references.
- • A gauge block support or spacer in an inspection setup where a stable, non-deforming, non-magnetic block is needed and metal isn't an option.
If your application is something else entirely, let us know the use case and we'll confirm the block is actually suited to it before you order — a reference cube built for squareness checking isn't automatically right for, say, a high-impact fixture application, and we'd rather tell you that upfront.

Dimensionally stable — granite carries no internal casting stress and doesn't creep or relax over years of use the way some metals do under sustained load.
Non-magnetic and electrically non-conductive — safe near sensors, magnetic chucks, and electronic measurement equipment where a steel reference would interfere.
Corrosion-free — no coating to maintain, no rust risk in humid or washdown environments.
Wear-resistant working faces — the ground surfaces hold their flatness under normal handling far longer than a soft metal reference would.
Traceable calibration — measured on equipment calibrated through [Jinan Institute of Metrology / Shandong Institute of Metrology], with a documented chain back to national reference standards.

Can the mounting groove be customized to match our existing fixture? Yes — send us your fixture drawing or the mating part's dimensions and we'll confirm whether the groove geometry can be matched, and flag anything in your design that would be difficult to hold to tolerance in granite.
How do we know the cube's faces are actually square, not just flat? The calibration certificate we issue states both flatness and squareness separately, measured with [Renishaw / WYLER], with the method and uncertainty documented — not just a pass/fail stamp.
Will the groove weaken the block under normal handling? For a groove cut to a modest depth relative to the block's overall dimensions, no — but this depends on the specific geometry of your part. If your application involves significant clamping force or impact loading near the groove, tell us the loading condition and we'll confirm the design is appropriate before production.
