Custom Precision Granite Base Plate with Threaded Inserts and Stepped Ledge
- • A stable reference surface. Dense black granite holds its shape through temperature swings and soaks up vibration that would ring in a steel frame. It does not rust and it is non-magnetic, which matters near optics, sensors and linear motors.
- • Stepped geometry in one stone. The raised deck and the lower ledge are machined from the same block, so axes sit at defined height offsets without bolting several plates together.
- • Inserts placed where your drawing says. Flush steel threaded inserts are bonded into precisely drilled holes, in rows or clusters, in metric or imperial threads. Custom insert types are available.
- • Bores, slots and pockets cut in the stone. The large round bore, keyhole slot and ledge pockets are finished with clean edges so the stone does not chip around features that carry cables, light or vacuum.
- • Ground, and hand-lapped where the tolerance demands it. Most of our lapping masters have more than 30 years at the bench. They finish the working faces by hand once machine grinding has done what it can.
- • Measured, not assumed. We inspect in a climate-controlled hall with vibration-isolation trenches around the floor, using Mahr, Mitutoyo, WYLER and Renishaw instruments. Our calibration certificates come from Jinan and Shandong metrology institutes and trace back to the national standard.

- • Semiconductor and wafer inspection. A sub-plate for the stage and optics. Because the stone barely moves between the morning and the night shift, focus and alignment stay put and you recalibrate less often.
- • AOI, X-ray and industrial CT. A rigid base for cameras, sources and detectors. Vibration from the factory floor has far less chance of showing up as blur in your images.
- • Laser processing and PCB drilling. A mounting plate for linear-motor axes where acceleration and settling time decide throughput. The damping of granite helps the axis settle faster.
- • CMM and metrology fixtures. A reference plate that other components can be checked against, without worrying about corrosion or magnetic interference.

Can you make this plate to my own drawing? Yes. Send a STEP, DWG or PDF file with dimensions, tolerances and thread specifications. If you only have a sketch, our engineers can help turn it into a manufacturable drawing.
How are the threaded inserts fixed, and how much load can they carry? Inserts are bonded into drilled holes. Capacity depends on the thread size, insert type, embedment depth and the stone around it, so tell us the load and direction and we will size the insert for it.
What flatness can I expect? It depends on the plate's size and thickness and on how it is supported. Put the target on your drawing and we will confirm whether it is achievable before we quote.

Can you assemble and calibrate the plate with my linear guides? Yes. We offer assembly, calibration and inspection, so the plate can arrive ready to install.
