A linear-motion system can only perform as well as the structure beneath it.
Even a high-quality guide rail, encoder, linear motor, or air-bearing stage can lose effective accuracy when its mounting surface is unstable, uneven, or affected by vibration and temperature change. ZHHIMG® custom precision granite components provide a stable structural reference for equipment builders who need controlled guideway alignment, repeatable assembly, and long-term geometric reliability.
The granite components shown are long-format precision structural members with machined reference faces, longitudinal recesses, and custom side interfaces. They can be developed as granite guideway supports, granite beams, rail-mounting bases, precision machine structures, measuring-system members, or assembled parts of a larger granite motion platform.
Each component is manufactured according to the approved customer drawing. This enables the geometry, working faces, holes, slots, recesses, inserts, thickness, and inspection requirements to match the actual machine design rather than forcing the equipment builder to adapt to a standard part.
Natural granite is commonly used where precision machines require thermally stable, vibration-damping, corrosion-resistant, and non-magnetic reference structures. Granite machine bases and custom granite components are frequently applied in metrology, optical systems, semiconductor equipment, electronic equipment, laser systems, and special-purpose machinery.

Linear-guide installation requires a clean, flat, straight mounting surface because uneven support can bend a rail during bolt tightening, affecting motion accuracy and bearing life. This is why the quality of the granite rail-support surface is often more important than the outside appearance of the component.

What are precision granite guideway components used for?
They are used as stable support structures for linear guide rails, linear motors, air bearings, encoder scales, metrology fixtures, sensor mounts, and other precision motion components.
Can the components be manufactured from our drawing?
Yes. ZHHIMG® can manufacture custom granite components from 2D drawings, 3D models, or confirmed technical specifications. Please provide the critical tolerances, reference datums, hole information, inserts, application, quantity, and inspection requirements.
Can you add threaded inserts or dowel holes?
Yes. Metal inserts, threaded sleeves, locating holes, dowel holes, counterbores, slots, and custom interfaces can be included. The insert type, thread standard, loading condition, bolt torque, and positional tolerance should be identified during drawing review.
Can granite components support linear guide rails directly?
Yes, provided that the rail-mounting faces are designed and inspected for the required flatness, straightness, parallelism, and fastener arrangement. The final rail installation must also follow the guide-rail manufacturer’s mounting recommendations.
How is granite accuracy inspected?
Inspection may include flatness, straightness, parallelism, perpendicularity, hole position, surface condition, and assembly fit. Measurement methods can use calibrated electronic levels, indicators, CMMs, laser interferometers, granite reference standards, and dedicated fixtures, depending on the component size and tolerance.
How should long granite components be handled?
Long granite beams must be supported properly during lifting, transport, inspection, and installation. Do not lift by unapproved holes or place concentrated loads near unsupported edges. Use the approved lifting method and support points defined by the supplier or engineering drawing.
