What is a granite surface plate with stand used for?
It is used as a flat reference platform for dimensional inspection, machine setup, calibration, layout work, fixture assembly, and quality-control measurement.
Why is the steel stand important?
The stand supports the granite plate at designed locations and provides a stable working height. Incorrect support can cause distortion or affect the usable flatness of the granite surface. Three-point support is commonly used for leveling precision granite measuring plates.
Which accuracy grade should I choose?

The recommended interval depends on usage, environment, loading, and required accuracy. A 12-month interval is commonly used as a baseline, while heavily used or shop-floor plates may require more frequent verification.
How should the granite plate be maintained?
Keep the surface clean, avoid dragging parts across it, protect it from impact, use the correct support points, and cover the plate when not in use. Do not use the measuring surface as a general workbench or storage area.
