A precision granite square box gives quality teams something that ordinary steel fixtures often cannot: a stable, multi-face reference for checking geometry in three dimensions.
This ZHHIMG® precision granite square box is designed for alignment, inspection, machine setup, and custom metrology applications. Its rigid black-granite construction provides a practical reference structure for customers who need to verify squareness, parallelism, straightness, coaxiality, or runout during equipment assembly and quality control.
A flat plate provides one reference plane. A granite square box provides several. That difference becomes valuable when a technician needs to set up a dial indicator, install a fixture, align a machine axis, or check a component from more than one direction without repeatedly changing the reference.
The product shown features a compact closed-box form with precision-finished faces, integrated mounting positions, and a recessed handling opening. It is suitable for use on a granite surface plate, a machine table, a CMM-related fixture, or a dedicated inspection station. ZHHIMG® can manufacture custom granite square boxes according to customer drawings, including special dimensions, insert locations, mounting patterns, and required accuracy grades.
Precision granite is widely used in metrology, mechanical engineering, and sophisticated measuring systems because it can provide a stable reference surface and is resistant to corrosion. Hand-lapped granite surfaces and threaded inserts are also widely used where accurate mounting and repeatable setup are required.

What is a precision granite square box used for?
It is used as a stable reference component for checking and setting squareness, perpendicularity, parallelism, straightness, coaxiality, and machine-axis alignment. It can also serve as a custom fixture base or support structure.
Can the square box include threaded inserts?
Yes. Threaded inserts can be placed in the top, side, or end faces according to the drawing. Please specify the thread standard, mounting load, bolt depth, insert material, and position tolerance.
Can ZHHIMG® manufacture a custom size?
Yes. Custom dimensions, wall thickness, cut-outs, measuring faces, insert patterns, lifting provisions, and assembly interfaces can be produced based on your 2D drawing or 3D model.
Which accuracy standard should I specify?
For angle-related accuracy, DIN 875 or an equivalent customer-defined requirement is commonly referenced. For flatness of measuring surfaces, DIN 876 or an equivalent standard may be appropriate. The correct grade should be selected according to the measurement uncertainty and application—not simply by choosing the highest available grade.
Will the product be supplied with an inspection report?
An inspection or calibration report can be provided when required. Confirm the measured characteristics, permissible tolerances, measuring instruments, reporting format, and traceability requirements before production.
How should a granite square box be handled?
Because granite is hard but can be damaged by impact or improper point loading, use the designed handling openings or approved lifting points. Install it on clean, adequately supported surfaces and avoid overtightening mounted hardware.
