Custom Precision Granite Gantry Base | ZHHIMG®
The base plate carries precision-ground reference surfaces, parallel T-slots for fixturing, and an array of threaded inserts for mounting stages, sensors and covers. A recessed pocket in the table area gives you room for routing or component integration. The portal column rises from the base with an arched opening, and its front face has machined guideway seats and lightening or cable-routing openings.
Because the whole structure is made from one material, you avoid the thermal mismatches and assembly errors that come from bolting several parts together.

- • Exceptional dimensional stability. Our black granite has a high density of about 3,100 kg/m³ (typical value; test report available on request) and low internal stress, so it holds its geometry over the long term.
- • Natural vibration damping. Granite absorbs vibration far better than steel or cast iron, which helps when you are measuring or machining at micron level.
- • Low thermal sensitivity. A low coefficient of thermal expansion means less drift when the workshop temperature changes.

- • Verified before shipping. Each part is measured with calibrated equipment traceable to national metrology standards, and we can supply an inspection report with the shipment.

Why choose a granite machine base instead of cast iron?
Granite damps vibration better, does not rust, is non-magnetic and changes shape less with temperature. Cast iron can still make sense for some dynamic loads, so we are happy to talk through your application before you decide.
How flat can a granite base be?
Flatness depends on size, thickness and the grade you specify. Precision grades up to DIN 876 Grade 00 are achievable on many designs. Send us your drawing and we will confirm what is realistic for your part.
Can you add T-slots, threaded inserts and through-holes?
Yes. Positions, sizes and tolerances follow your drawing. We can also machine air-bearing surfaces, guideway seats and pockets.
What files do I need to get a quote?
A 2D drawing (PDF/DWG) or 3D model (STEP) is ideal. If you only have a sketch, send it along with the key dimensions, the required flatness, and how the base will be used.
Do you provide inspection reports?
Yes. Measurements are made with calibrated instruments traceable to national standards, and a report can be supplied with the shipment.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Prototype and single-piece orders are welcome, and we also support recurring series production.
How is such a heavy part packed and shipped?
We use custom wooden crates with shock protection and moisture control, and we can arrange sea freight via the nearby Qingdao port.
