A precision machine can only perform as consistently as the structure that supports its guideways, sensors, motion systems, and measurement references. Stable structural reference
Granite can be precision ground and lapped to create mounting faces that support alignment-sensitive components. It is widely used in measuring machines, grinding equipment, PCB drilling systems, electronic-production machines, and optical or test equipment.
Natural vibration control
Every machine base faces some level of disturbance: acceleration and deceleration of moving axes, spindle or pump vibration, operator activity, floor vibration, or neighboring machinery. Granite’s inherent damping helps reduce the transmission of these disturbances through the structure. That does not replace proper machine engineering or external isolation, but it provides a useful foundation for high-precision designs.
Integrated assembly capability
The visible insert pattern is not merely a finishing detail. It lets equipment builders install rails, brackets, covers, precision stages, cable fixtures, and tooling without adding a separate steel framework. Insert locations, thread sizes, recessed or flush mounting conditions, and locating features can all be defined from the assembly drawing.
Resistance to corrosion and magnetic interference
Unlike ferrous machine frames, granite does not rust. It is also non-magnetic and electrically non-conductive, which can be beneficial in sensitive measuring environments and in systems where electrical insulation or reduced magnetic influence is desirable.

Can the granite base be manufactured from our CAD drawing?
Yes. ZHHIMG® can manufacture custom granite components from 2D drawings, 3D CAD files, tolerance lists, and assembly requirements. Before production, the engineering review should confirm material grade, datum surfaces, insert locations, hole depths, critical tolerances, handling points, and inspection requirements.
Can threaded inserts be added to granite?
Yes. Stainless-steel threaded inserts, locating bushings, dowel holes, steel plates, and other mounting interfaces can be incorporated. The required pull-out load, bolt size, torque, spacing, and surface condition should be specified during the design review.
Can the central opening and hole layout be customized?
Yes. The opening can be rectangular, circular, stepped, or shaped to suit an optical path, actuator, vacuum chamber, tooling module, cable route, or maintenance-access requirement. Mounting patterns can match your linear rails, motors, sensors, or equipment enclosure.
What information is needed for a quotation?
Please provide the overall dimensions, 2D or 3D drawings, tolerance requirements, surface-finish requirements, threaded insert details, quantity, application, destination country, and target delivery date. Is granite suitable for very large machine structures?
